Hormone Harmony with Eliza & Maya from Souls In Sync

Hormone Harmony with Eliza & Maya from Souls In Sync

When I first met Eliza and Maya from Souls In Sync on the Sunshine Coast, it was clear they shared a deep passion for women’s wellness. Together, they later co-hosted a workshop inside the Nurtur Tea warehouse, where women learnt more about cycle health and the power of “hormone harmony.” Just as Nurtur Tea’s blends like Cinnamon Flow tea are designed to support women through the ups and downs of their cycle, Eliza and Maya’s work provides women with the education, tools, and online community to better understand and honour their bodies.

I hope you enjoy this chat with Eliza and Maya. Feel free to share any thoughts or questions that come up for you.

We’d love to hear about your journey. What inspired you both to create Souls In Sync, and why was this work so important for you to bring to life?

We created Souls In Sync off the back of the desire to bring women together in connection, safety and community. This work is so important for us because meeting each other we finally understood what it felt like to have a friend who was there unconditionally and we wished every other women could also experience this. We are also so passionate about that love for each other coming from ourselves first, connect with yourself & connect with each other.

Can you share what “hormone harmony” really means and why it matters for women at all stages of life?

Hormone Harmony is our signature program. To us this program means that every women gets the chance to learn about her cyclical body in a world that never taught us. Hormone Harmony means to work with yourself, not against yourself and to understand that our environment and our beliefs really make or break our health. It matters for women at all stages because we are every evolving - we are not the same hormonally each day and connecting and understanding yourself on this deeper level gives us context as to why me feel different each day due to these changes.

What are some of the most common signs you see when women’s hormones are out of balance and how can they start tuning into those signals?

The most common signs we see are menstrual cramps, acne, missing periods, irregular cycles or PMS. The first step we recommend to any women we work with is to start tracking her cycle on a written tracker. This is a gathering of important information which can provide valuable feedback in regards to her body and what may be exacerbating these symptoms.

You spoke about the impact of lifestyle choices on hormone health. If someone is feeling overwhelmed, what’s one simple daily ritual they can start with?

Affirmations and noticing the way they speak to themselves or the belief’s they have about their cycle. A daily practice of affirmations or journalling can uncover what it is a woman needs to bring awareness to first.

Many women experience shame or silence around topics like PMS, cycles, or fertility. How do you think open conversations in community settings help shift that?

It makes it normal! And so it should be! 50% of the population bleed and the other 50% have come from someone who bleeds. Creating open conversations about it will help created that ripple effect.

At Nurtur Tea we love weaving rituals like tea into wellbeing. Do you have a personal ritual? For example, tea, movement, or mindfulness that helps you feel grounded in your cycle?

Maya: My yoga time is for me & my mat. This is where all the noise from the day fades away and im just left with me, myself & I.

Eliza: I love my morning gratitude journal, it set’s the tone to my day and makes me look around and notice all the good that’s in my life.

Closing Thoughts

Eliza and Maya really remind us that when we actually understand our cycles, it can feel like coming home to ourselves with more compassion, balance, and ease. That’s something we’re so passionate about at Nurtur Tea too. Blends like Cinnamon Flow were created to support women through those shifts, whether it’s easing cramps, bringing comfort, or just giving you a daily ritual to slow down and connect. When we combine education, community, and little nourishing practices like tea, our cycles stop feeling like something we just “put up with” and instead become a source of wisdom, strength, and self-trust.
