100% Cermonial Matcha from Uji, Japan.

Matcha has a naturally smooth, earthy flavour with a hint of sweetness. High-quality ceremonial-grade matcha, like ours, has a well-balanced taste—rich and creamy with umami notes and no bitterness. Its vibrant green colour reflects its freshness and premium quality.

Matcha is best enjoyed in the morning or early afternoon for a clean, sustained energy boost. It provides gentle, long-lasting focus without the jitters or crash of coffee, making it a great way to start your day. Many people also enjoy matcha before a workout or as an afternoon pick-me-up to stay energised and focused. Since matcha contains caffeine, we recommend avoiding it too close to bedtime to support restful sleep.

Yes, matcha naturally contains caffeine, but unlike coffee, it provides a slow, steady release of energy rather than a sudden spike and crash. This is due to the presence of L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes calmness and focus while balancing the effects of caffeine. A typical serving of matcha contains around 30–70mg of caffeine, depending on the amount used—less than a cup of coffee but enough to keep you energised and alert without jitters.

Our matcha comes in a sealed, airtight tin to preserve its freshness, flavour, and vibrant green colour. Matcha is delicate and can easily degrade when exposed to light, air, and moisture. By storing it in a tin, we ensure that every scoop maintains its rich umami taste and high antioxidant content, so you get the freshest, highest-quality matcha in every cup. Plus, our tins are reusable and recyclable, making them a more sustainable choice!

A 50g tin of matcha contains approximately 50 servings when using our Nurtur Tea bamboo scoop, which measures the perfect ½ teaspoon (1g) per cup. If you prefer a stronger brew, using a heaped scoop (2g) per serving, you'll get around 25 servings per tin. However you enjoy it, each tin provides plenty of nourishing, clean energy to fuel your daily rituals!

Ceremonial-grade matcha, like Nurtur Tea’s organic matcha, is made from the youngest, most tender tea leaves, carefully handpicked from the first harvest for superior quality, flavour, and nutrition. It has a vibrant green colour, smooth texture, and naturally sweet, umami-rich taste, making it perfect for sipping or enjoying as a creamy latte.

Cheaper culinary-grade matcha is made from more mature leaves, resulting in a duller colour, more bitter taste, and a coarser texture. It’s typically used for baking or blending into recipes rather than for drinking on its own.

By choosing ceremonial-grade matcha, you’re getting:
🌿 Higher L-Theanine Content – This amino acid promotes calm focus, reduced stress, and balanced energy.
🌿 More Antioxidants – Protects against oxidative stress and supports healthy skin, immunity, and overall well-being.
🌿 Gentle, Sustained Energy – A natural caffeine boost without the jitters or crashes of coffee.
🌿 Better Absorption of Nutrients – Premium matcha is finely stone-ground, making it easier for your body to absorb its benefits.

With Nurtur Tea’s ceremonial matcha, you’re not just drinking tea—you’re nourishing your mind and body with every sip.

Matcha is generally considered safe in moderation during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but it’s important to be mindful of caffeine intake. Unlike coffee, matcha provides a gentle, sustained energy boost with the added benefits of L-theanine, which promotes calmness and focus.

A standard serving of matcha contains 30–70mg of caffeine, depending on how much you use. Health guidelines typically recommend limiting caffeine intake to 200mg per day during pregnancy, so enjoying one small cup of matcha per day is usually fine for most mums-to-be.

We always recommend consulting your primary healthcare professional, such as your GP or Naturopath if you have any concerns.

Whether you enjoy your matcha hot, iced, or even bake with it, you can still experience its benefits.

To maintain its freshness, vibrant colour, and delicate flavour, we recommend storing your matcha in the fridge, away from strong odours and humidity. Always keep it in its original airtight tin to protect it from light, air, and moisture.

For the best quality:
Store it in the fridge to preserve freshness, ensuring the lid is tightly sealed.
Keep it away from humidity and strong-smelling foods, as matcha can absorb odours easily.
Use within 1–2 months for peak flavour, but if stored properly, it will stay fresh for up to 6 months.
