Yummy Chai Tea Banana Bread
If you love banana bread like me, you’re going to be really excited about our yummy chai tea infused banana bread. No sugar, no butter, there’s only goodness inside this comfort healthy banana bread recipe. 
Instead of sugar, you’ll enjoy the natural sweetness of the homemade apple sauce, ripe bananas and honey (or syrup of choice) perfectly balanced with the aromatic spices of our chai tea. Infusing the bread with our chai, also provides the benefits of antioxidants and calming properties thanks to its unique curated formula.
As I write this, it’s pouring outside and I can’t wait to get stuck into my favourite snack as I cuddle my dog on the sofa. It’s also so yum with your morning tea or share with your little ones.
Benefits of the ingredients:
Banana: Rich source of potassium, fibre and vitamin C
Chai Tea: Antioxidant rich, anti-inflammatory and good for gut health
Honey: A natural sweetener
Apple Sauce: Natural sugar, high in vitamin C and fibre
Wholemeal Flour: Rich in nutrients, supports digestion
 
Ingredients:
1 cup mashed ripe bananas
1/2 cup applesauce*
1 large egg
1/2 cup honey (or alternative syrup)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup brewed strong chai tea, cooled
To make homemade apple sauce simply peel and cut up 2 apples, add 1/2 cup of water, add a squeeze of lemon and let it simmer in a pan until apples are soft. Mash with a fork. 
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Loaf Tin
  • preheat over to 175 celsius
  • grease tin with baking paper
2. Mix Wet Ingredients
  • combine mashed bananas with apple sauce
  • add the honey, egg, vanilla extract
  • mix until well combined
3. Add Chai Tea
  • stir in cooled chai tea
4. Combine Dry Ingredients
  • in a seperate bowl, whisk the baking soda, salt, whole wheat flour
5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
  • slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture
6. Bake
  • pour the batter into the loaf tin and bake for approximately 60 mins or until fork is inserted and it comes out clean
 
7. To Serve
  • let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely
  • enjoy!
